RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (RTP) – April 24, 2018 – Dignify Therapeutics is excited to announce that Eric Green, JD, has joined Dignify Therapeutics as an Independent Manager and active member of the Board of Directors, where he will be integral to Dignify’s next round of venture fund-raising and negotiating strategic partnerships.

Mr. Green received his MBA from University of London, Cass Business School and his JD from Rutgers University. Mr. Green was General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary at inVentiv Health until last year, when inVentiv was sold to INC Research in a $7B transaction in which Eric played a pivotal role. Before inVentiv, Mr. Green spent 11 years at Quintiles Transnational Corp. during which time he served as Vice-President & General Counsel of the Commercial division.

According to Dr. Karl B. Thor, CSO of Dignify, “Dignify has a very strong scientific team that has provided strong rationale to support a number of attractive programs for improving the lives of people with neurological disorders such as spinal cord injury. Now that we have this strong scientific foundation, we needed to add someone with experience and expertise on the business side of our company. Eric provides the strategic business development expertise that Dignify requires to move our projects into the clinic. He is a welcome addition to the team”. Dr. Ed Burgard, President of Dignify, added, “It was important for Dignify to find a business person who shares our passion to help resolve the many health burdens that spinal injured individuals and their caregivers must bear. Eric not only provides an executive level of business understanding but is also a person who cares deeply about our mission.”

In reply, Mr. Green stated, “I am very enthusiastic to work with the Dignify team to bring new products to the market. One of the most exciting aspects is that their programs include “first-ever” therapies that target a severe, unmet, medical need; yet they have little or no competition in their therapeutic area.”

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (RTP) – December 11, 2017 – Dignify Therapeutics, LLC, a leading developer of therapies for bladder and bowel dysfunction, announced the appointment of Nadia Rupniak, PhD, as Executive Vice President of Drug Development.

Dr. Rupniak is an internationally recognized neuroscientist and drug developer, with experience in efficacy and safety pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and metabolism, regulatory interactions, and the design of clinical studies. Previously, Dr Rupniak was Vice President of Research and Development at CoLucid Pharmaceuticals, where she played a key role in the development of lasmiditan for migraine. Lasmiditan was acquired by Eli Lilly following CoLucid’s successful IPO. Before this, she was a Distinguished Senior Investigator with Merck, where she supported the development of numerous clinical candidates, including Emend ® for emesis and Vioxx ® for pain. Her main interest is in the identification of important therapeutic uses for novel molecules and differentiating their mechanism of action from established therapies.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Rupniak join Dignify as we progress our programs for bladder and bowel voiding disorders towards the clinic,” said Dr. Karl Thor, Chief Scientific Officer of Dignify Therapeutics. “Her experience in bringing specific drug classes through the regulatory approval process is immediately applicable for several of our novel programs designed to allow people to regain control of their bladder and bowel function.”

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (September 19, 2017) – Dignify Therapeutics LLC, a drug development company focused on restoring bladder and bowel control for the elderly, as well as people with spinal injury, multiple sclerosis, or diabetes, received three NIH SBIR/STTR grants in 2017 totaling $4.1 million. The grants were awarded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and the National Institute on Aging. The grants support the growth of Dignify’s lead drug development program in preparation for a Phase I clinical study, as well as studies to identify alternative formulations, through collaboration with the Division of Pharmacoengineering & Molecular Pharmaceutics at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Dignify is developing a novel, on-demand, drug-induced voiding therapy for bladder and bowel dysfunction to eliminate or reduce the need for life-long, multiple-daily catheterization of the bladder and manual bowel programs. Worldwide catheter sales total $3 billion/year, while health care expenditures associated with voiding dysfunction cost $7 billion/year in the US alone. Thus, success of Dignify’s lead drug development program will not only improve the quality of life for individuals with voiding dysfunction, it will also substantially reduce health care costs.

“We are very appreciative of our continued support from the NIH” said Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Karl Thor. “Since 2013 Dignify has also been awarded NIH grant support from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke to develop an “on-demand, rapid-onset, short-duration, drug-induced, voiding therapy”.
